Third Age Health (TAH)
I was the first investor into Third Age Health and became an investor and director in early 2012. I
invested into TAH because I recognised that the business would be able to grow exponentially if it
were to receive a few missing ingredients. In 2013 , I accepted a board invitation and was
appointed TAH’s first CEO. I led the company from 2013 to 2021 and increased our enterprise
value from $212k to over $27m. TAH has continued to grow since I stepped down as CEO and is
now valued up over $45m. If you had invested $10k when I got involved with TAH in 2012 those
shares would now be worth over $2m. Not a bad return for shareholders!

Third Age Health is New Zealand’s only national provider focused primarily on general practice services for older adults living in aged residential care facilities.With this specialised focus,the company delivers tailored healthcare to meet the unique needs of older people and the environments they call home.
A national team of General Practitioners and Nurse Practitioners provides care to over 70 aged care facilities across New Zealand. The team supports patients through every stage of aging, including frailty, memory loss, palliative care, and end-of-life care.
Comprehensive primary healthcare
Boutique Community General Practices
Third Age Health also operates a group of boutique General Practices, offering comprehensive primary healthcare to people of all ages. These practices often serve as community health hubs, supporting older adults in local retirement villages and care facilities.
The company currently runs several community primary care practices across NZ:Belmont Medical Centre, EastMED Doctors, Ponsonby Medical Centre, Devonport Family Medicine, Hawkes Bay Wellness, and TAHI Care. Each practice has a dedicated team of General Practitioners, Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, and administrative staff.
How I Helped
24/7 GP Support
We built the first nationwide after hours GP service for our patients and helped ensure
systems were in place for doctors to be available on call, providing urgent advice and
assistance whenever needed.
Scheduled Clinical Rounds
I supported the team in establishing regular, in-person visits that build strong relationships
with residents, families, and staff.
Locum Coverage
I advised on processes to guarantee replacement practitioners, ensuring continuity of care
at all times.
